Over 50 homes for Kittens Saved from Euthanasia! ! !

4heberts | 05 December, 2009 00:41

 Phew!

Am I tired after helping my girls find homes for so many kittens! I had to take a break!  Here I am using the mouse for a pillow and am babysitting one of the kittens before he goes to his new home.  PAWS Feline Rescue has finally placed more than 50 kittens since its inception on September 6, 2009.  The past three months have been full, and I have had to teach my girls a lot about caring for so many kittens, but they learn pretty fast.  We hope to move into a climate controlled building soon as a means of keeping everyone well and enabling others to visit as well as volunteer.  Email me at forrest@pawsrescue.net if you are interested in helping further the cause of saving kittens from euthanasia. The need is great, and our goal is to be prepared for kitten season so we can find lots of homes and save another 50 kittens!  Spread the word and donate at www.pawsrescue.net.  Find us on Facebook as PAWS Feline Rescue

I've Been Neutered! ! !

4heberts | 28 November, 2009 20:01

I have been gone for awhile . . . and my family neutered me during that time!  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be . . .  At least I didn't have to stay overnight.  They also gave me good drugs! Smile  I want to encourage all of you to be spayed or neutered, because that is the only way to stop the killing of innocent kittens and cats!  (Dogs, too)  Did you know one cat can cause almost 12 MILLION kittens to be born in 9 years?  Yes, ask your owner to spay or neuter you as well.  You not only will be a lot calmer in the coming months, but you won't have the risk of getting most cancers that also kill cats.  It's a win-win situation, especially when you get pain medicine to help you feel better while recovering!

His Favorite Toy . . .

4heberts | 30 September, 2009 23:39

Many people inquire as to what my favorite toy is.  Can you guess???  The laser pointer.  No, I am not fooled!  I know my girl uses it as a fun way to play with me.  The minute I hear it click, I start looking for that red dot.  It flies all over the room while I have fun chasing it. The best part is when I catch it and lie on top of it!  I feel really proud then!  I just don't understand how it escapes from under me . . .

If you can't figure out what your cat's favorite toy is, then keep trying new things.  A lot of my rescued friends like balls to chase that make a noise as they roll.  Their favorite toys are the interactive toys that are on sticks.  They love playing with people in this manner!  The toys that have a bell or make a little sound are the best because it reminds us that our job is to chase mice and birds!

Since exercise is so important, why don't you help your cat have fun while he exercises?  Try using a laser pointer.  It just might become your kitten's favorite pasttime!

Kittens Everywhere! ! !

           KITTENS EVERYWHERE ARE HUNGRY!

Time to Eat!

Feeding Kittens around my house is a busy time!  In the next picture you can see me checking out everyone to make sure all is OK.  You have to look carefully, though, to find me!  :)

About my life now . . .

4heberts | 21 September, 2009 22:32

You have probably seen my picture where I am lying flat on the floor.  That is how I like to spend my day - relaxing.  Sometimes, I have to get up and work to find homes for my new friends.  I have to make an appearance at the keyboard to update the website!

We have lots of kittens to find homes in which they can make their families happy!  Remember to tell all of your family members about the importance of spaying/neutering pets so the overpopulation problem will not be as severe!  Until tomorrow .. .

Forrest Has Been Busy Saving Kitties!

4heberts | 19 September, 2009 22:33

Wow!  What a busy week! I found homes for so many friends, that we had enough resources and space to rescue more kittens who only had a brief time left to live!  I would love to rescue all of the cats and kittens . . .  It seems there are not many people saving cats at this high-kill shelter, so tell all of your friends about www.pawsrescue.net  Ask them to send the URL to everyone in their contact list in case SOMEONE may want a kitten or cat.  The need is great . . .  Here are just a few pictures of lucky kittens waiting for me to find a family for them to love. . .

. . . two more rescued kittens! ! !

4heberts | 11 September, 2009 18:07

Today Paws Rescue brought home two kittens from the high-kill shelter.  Today was their last day, but now there is hope they will find a true home!  One is a calico kitten about 6 weeks old, the other a long-haired silver kitten about 3 months old.  Both are sweet, and neither one of them hissed at me when I smelled their noses!  Smile Here are their pictures.

Introducing Forrest . . .

My name is Forrest, and I was rescued from a high-kill shelter.  My three sisters (yes, one was named Jenny!) and I were adopted when we were three weeks old.  We were so ill and weak that we could not hold up our heads.  We were lovingly washed, fed, and petted causing us to grow quickly!  Because our mother died, our rescuers fed us milk from a bottle throughout the day and night until we could eat on our own.  I am told that when I was learning to drink from a bowl that I would lie flat in the milk while I ate!  You can easily tell which kitten I am in the picture because I am the only boy AND the only kitten without a dark gray spot on its head!

Congratulations!
